We will dive into modern nervous system science exploring how the rhythms of curiosity and caution play a crucial role in our decision-making. As humans, we can't separate our emotions from the predicted outcomes of our decisions. Before we can empirically assess our circumstances we must skillfully enact our emotional intelligence to objectively weigh our choices. Observing the resonating relationship of curiosity and caution helps us to think like a drummer, find the rhythm, and get in the groove.
Learning Objectives:
-Define the ‘window of tolerance’ model by Dr. Dan Siegel in terms of the rhythm of compression and expansion
-Practice nervous system regulation techniques that offer objectivity in weighing positive and negative outcomes
-Evaluate how regulation achieves optimal decision-making physiological states balancing curiosity and caution
